> ## episode 7 recap
> The party awakens in a prison cell, with a letter from eckhart. The letter explains that they are to be investigated for the bloody armor in their possession. He fulfilled his word on looking for magical maladies and comments on the strangeness of their mana.
They are met with snoring and loud comments from a gruff roden voice.
The voice is identified as Pat Sonic Omen, by Zhar. Zhar continues to adress the snoring man who replies. He mentions getting stuck in hightower and being a part of sebenes convoy. He points out the location of dead blackwings on the map to zhar.
Zhar adresses the party, and the uniforms. The conversation is professional, and a bit cold. He explains that his job is to simply make sure they stay put.
Barradyne Dethain opens a red door and ends up in the prison cell with the party.
The party confirms his mysterious or supernatural entrance, and they make introductions.
Upon scheming to break free, the middle jail cell explodes, blodying and deafening the party. Gilligan gets a visual on the 3 roden men who climb out of the hole and mr Pat sonic omen from the cell above. The roden man leave while the party reels and tries to communicate. They quickly grab their gear as well as the boots of the snoring man who is now a meat mural on the wall.
The party makes their way down the hole into the sewers. They proceed with haste and desperation. Upon entering the main sewerway they find evidence of people having lived in the sewer. Gilligan notices the boot perfectly matches the footsteps of the fourth knight. They also have a foot in each boot. This activates armado, and they proceed with even more fervor, as lark wakes up, begging for rest or death.
They hear a sound from the northern passage. Following the sound they make their way into a large outlet, greeted by a man named Tigrin Sleetcote. They exchange introductions.
Tigrin is short, but a bit cordial. He has a corpse of a severed on his table. The corpse doesn't scream at lark. They exchange introductions. He is an alchemist trying to understand the whitewood phenomenon.
He shares some insights. They grow from the trees. Alchemy does not interact with them as it should with life. He was called to help find a way to kill them without spreading the wood. Suncrest and radda folk call them the severed. He was called here by sebene, and has been working here for a year. He explains that the woods is increasing in size rapidly.
He shares that the 3 roden men call themselves the thieves guild. The party recognizes Belinda's jars.
The party leaves, exploring the central sewer area a bit, discovering feet in the boots. Continuing haste they exit through the south out of a mouth of a well. Lark begs to be thrown. Gilligan and Armando help Lark get thrown out of the well collapsing a lung.
They land in front of copperworth, breaking carrots. Copperworth knows that they know that he knows that they know him. Cavren takes lark inside. Armando attempts to start an explanation for their story, shoeshine and Claudio, while copperworth invites them in for a talk.

> ## Episode 8 recap
> Copperworth, Cavren, and slough sit at the dinner table with the party.
They are asked if theyre enjoying their stay in suncrest. Slough magically seals the doors. They talk about memetics and enchantment. Prof thisbee. People have been acting a bit too curteous. Copperworth grew up on the third shelf, explaining that ableton is made of cliff faces. The well is an escape route through the sewers, and doesnt function. He explains sebene is a member of the triumverate. Zhar is ex husband to Eckhart.
The whitewoods are encroaching rapidly, and copperworth is conspiring with the leaders of suncrest to tackle the issue and mobilize for war. Hightower is arguing over if they are still ouphie, while being reluctant to raise a sword. If blackwings found out about copperworths gamble, there would be conflict.
Copperworth offers a job which gilligan accepts in exchange for a favor.
Deliver a package to two soulbinders up north.
Gilligan accepts, receives requisitions, and leaves.
He gets rations, a personal tent, cloak of sleetcote, map, and sleeping bag. Barradyne is skeptical about how sweet the deal is, but acquiesces. Armando gives in and realizes he might have to risk trusting people.
They talk on maple briefly, and eckhart.
Armando takes the initiative and shares everything with Copperworth, outside of the red doors and otherworldly topics. Sam, claudio, suncrest knights, ect.
Barradyne just brings out the shoes. They're most likely a retired knights, as they return their gear, which is very tricky to get a hold of.
Copperworth is suspicious as to why thisbee hasn't made any larger moves despite her capability to. If she wants to take over the city she probably could, so what is she doing. She seems sincere about her willingness to help. Copperworth shows his rotting chest sigil that protects him from enchantment.
Cavren interrupts with lark in critical condition.
Slough speaks up and suggests they visit cobbler sampson in the western side of the city past the farm.
Cavren uses a contraption to reinflate the lung and drain blood. He manages to help sustain lark, but fails to regain consciousness.
Barradyne and copperworth exchange some words alone.
Copperworth reiterates that they should all leave within a few months.
Armando returns and goes deeper into the questions.
Copperworth mentions sebene employs retired knights as convoys, espionage ect.
Copperworth offers a deal to investigate thisbees motivations in exchange for helping with the claudio case.
He reveals that he was the one to inform zhar about there whereabouts.
He gives the party writs of innocence and offers them an open deal in exchange for the thisbee task.
Copperworth offers them passes to the upper city in a few weeks time. A knock on the door from a suncrest knight pushes the party into larks room, while copperworth cavren and slough leave with the knight.
Armando takes a moment to reflect about his selfishness and disregard for larks imobility.
Lark awakes in the afterwood. He is met by xian who wonders if he fell asleep in the white wood. Asking lark about his entry, he recognizes the fireflies as white robed witches with torches. He and his people, the men and hoglin of halfmoon valley, or crater of suza, do not have access to the afterward. He is currently a golem, whos mind and soul are split and he has been this way for thousands of years. Lark is soft and kind, and xian responds in kind.
Xian mentions the beasts of legend, the dragons. His will to survive is due to his love for suza and his people.
He makes note of larks lack of a mark of passage denoting being an outsider. 3 black lines on each side of the face under the eyes. He asks if he is a librarian, friend of halpha or aster. His memories of conversation with larks 'kin' Librarians of the past fade with time. Lark offers to carry his name, but xian explains that there wont be anyone left. The whitewood will fill and claim that souls of all those in the valley.
The trees in the afterwood are reflections and memories of the souls of the destroyed whitewood, trapped and unable to reconnect with the afterword.
While xian thinks and works in the waking world, a reflection of his mind exists in the afterwood.
He is currently trying to rebuild the temple of his people at the center of the valley.
The exchange goodbyes and a solumn understanding of two old men, as lark leaves the afterward and his breathing stops.
Barradyne notices lark die, and begins a prayer and offering to his god.
His god doesnt answer.
Something else does. A hand of man, the feeling leaves and the coins vanish.
Barradyne beseaches the entity in a second prayer.
More coins are taken, and barradyne sees a brief vision of everyone in the room in a black robe and a white mask. The man who is in the place of lark is breathing, but qhen thr vision fades lark remains dead.
A knock at the door interrupts the solemnity. Its sam.
She sees lark on the bed. Uses the hisk that her father gave her as his last birthday gift to bring forth a cake, she uses a finger to light a flame and then a candle.

> Lark is assisted by fletta to her shegrin.
She offers 3 scrolls.
Hummingbird - cold and transactional. you may return of body, but spend mind and soul.
Firefly - macabre and poetic. To give ones soul to an inheritor. Talent points remain, but the sentiment of your journey and the growth will leave.
Moth - somber narrative. Your memories are passed down, without the sentiment, while you will yearn for those lost memories.
Rabbit - a letter from sophia. Passing of the contract.
Fletta draws sheep, while lark leaves after chosing Rabbit. Ticket to coastline borealis seat F06. Bronze ticket with gold inlay.
Armando and Barradyne enter the afterwood. Xian greets them and assumes their connection with lark, unsure of his wareabouts. He shared his assumptions about larks entry being falling asleep in the whitewood. He explains that the place they are in is a domain of consiousness that holds his kin who are severed from the tree of life and therefor the afterward.
He explains that he is a golem, divided into parts. His armor within the domain is different from the mask barradyne saw. He gives his name. Upon asking of their arrival he discusses his lack of knowledge about the present time and their methods of travel. He continues on the ignorance of the current people in halfmoon valley. On the topic of the fireflies he mentions their appearance of all white during the era of the legendary beasts and the hoglin of halfmoon valley. He knew juniper. Knew nothing of sophia or red doors. He suggested to leave halfmoon valley as there is not going to be one soon.
He was born in halfmoon valley in the time of suza.
Suza is gone, like every other beast of legend, and like the hoglin. The gods have been dead much earlier than the beasts of legend or even the dragons.
Barradyne plucks a white flower from the domain. 3 petals over another 3 petals all with radial symmetry.xian had not named them. They are holy objects to barradyne.
They awaken.
Maple is whacking sam over the head punitively.
Cyril enters in confusion. Maple brushes him off and continues about how Sam doesn't know what she's doing. Sam pleads that she wanted to send them to the afterward to find a remnant of lark. Maple gives sam an ultimatum of 2 weeks.
Maple likes cyrils umbrella. And his flattery. Maple cant open her umbrella willy nilly due to the triggers on the magic circles inside. She bought it from Tungrid, from mister veux. Maple leaves.
Sam gets confused by the foxman who doesn't seem to know anything about anything.
The party returns. Sam and Armando talk about lark passing. Cyril remains confused. He leaves.
Armando contemplates the staff and teapot but nothing comes to mind other than what he will tell Gilligan.
Armando asks Sam how she is enjoying her stay. She isnt too enthusiastic. On the topic of enchantment hocus pocus and the parties deal with copperworth, armando was being vague, and sam explained that she is renting out the atrium. Sam only has upper city access under the supervision of thisbee.
Cyril on his way out overshares info with two strangers. One with an eyepatch and a woman with curly raven hair. Cavren enters and the two strangers say they dont know Cyril.
Cyril takes a tour of the building. Weapons are being produced, stored, and accounted for. A ledger detailing the return of civilian tools and the purchase of billets and weapon materials. Wood is being processed from Debacker for a large amount of arrows hafts. Cyril steals a pair of tongs and the ledger. He passes by well used training dummies. Further south he breaks the lock to a small holy place on the south of the courtyard. His better judgement tells him to not steal the figurine inside.
He eavesdrops on the parties talk with cavren.
Cavren explains that the original owners of the bloody armor they were carrying had been found just outside of hightower and are currently being buried. Cavren leaves and Armando discusses secrecy and the feeling of being overwhelmed with Barradyne. As they head inward to the guild hall, Barradyne sees a memory of a blue haired girl with a flower in her ear that matches the flower he carries.
Cyril returns to lie about the lock he stole and offers his services to fix it.
Cavren offers 2 gold for his repair service.
Cyril gets his job and tags along with the party.
The nameless travelers mention they are not artists but customers looking for something, and wish to purchase passage.
Armando leaves to spend time with the place he threw lark to his death.
Barradyne and cyril stand outside of a place of worship, deemed unholy by Barradyne, and they speak to one another about working together.

> ## Episode 10 Recap
>
On the evening of the 16th day. The sun yearns to set, and the red moon ewka yearns to follow in it's footsteps.
Barradyne and Armando take a moment in copperworths garden to reflect on the guilt of assisting lark in his death.
Armando grapples more with how his son Gilligan will be able to carry the burden.
Barradyne gives his apprehension about the nature of Armando being an imp, known for their deceit and trickery, but admires Armando for being forthright.
He suggests to him that he take this virtue of honesty and apply it to his son, because his son deserves it as well.
Cyril enters with flattery and ensures that the deal that had been made will be seen through.
Upon returning to the hall Cyril offers his wage that he was promised for some room and board.
Cavren accepts, and also tasks Cyril with cleaning the remnants of lark from the bed.
Saul and Lav are also given the same grace, after showing desperation to find an entrance to the upper city.
Barradyne and Armando chase the sun westward and stop at the farming plots.
The feet in the boots are burried amongst the cabbages, the boots are washed in a local creek, and they continue their walk westward to meet the cobbler
Cobbler Sampson explains to Armando and Barradyne that the boots belong to a Jake Shelly, a retired suncrest knight who is now in service to Sebene, who had last been seen on a convoy for her about a month ago.
Unaware of his death, sampson suggests returning the boots and bids them farewell.
The night grows long as they make the walk back home and retire for the evening.
Cyril, Saul and Lav are able to make strange bedfellows awaiting the morning and the return of copperworth, and with him the promise of a pathway to the fairer side of the city.
Gilligan Gallows has been making his way north. The unknown nature of the forest keeps him vigilant, as he makes progress, day after day northward.
Getting closer to his destination an unshakable chill runs down his spine.
He is able to make it to a clearing before being ambushed by a creature. A vicious maw, a hundred legs, and an insectoid body.
The creature gnashes at him and chases him up a tree, where he is able to get high ground and fight for his life.
He is victorious as the cost of the flesh around his legs. He is able to walk almost miraculously. He is exhausted and awakes at midnight to finish the journey a days travel. He collapses at dawn at the location marked on his map.
On the 17th day, Armando and Barradyne make it to Eckharts. Barradyne and eckhart are introduced.
Armando apologises for the theft of the book. Eckhart knew the whole time. He let them keep Haven without reading it or identifying it.
Armando explains the death of lark,
Eckhart continues. He knew jake and corroborates the information about jake from cobbler sampson. He used to work for yulia, the prior triumvere to sebene. She was a lover of copperworths, before he took her life when she was going to cause a split in the vision that suncrest has for their solution to the whitewoods.
Barradyne speaks an understanding of the situation and what it is to chose duty over personal attachment.
He asks about faith, and Eckhart suggests he learns of the old and new laws from the more philosophical types at the druids repository. The laws are well known, but perhaps subjective depending on who you ask.
He extends his loan on the book 'the fundamentals of runes.' to Barradyne and Armando.
He explains that Armando's mana is oddly smooth. Testing Barradyne he reveals the same. This is typically found in newborns, or hypothetically those who have been in contact with magic of catastrophic proportions.
They exchange words on the current state of Suncrest mobilizing for war.
Armando leans the conversation toward enchantment.
Eckhart addresses the teapot and domains. He hasn't seen anything like the teapot but explains that there are esoterica that can create domains with the sacrificing of a left eye, or other rituals to create a domain within an object such as a mirror. The teapot is unlikely to be the culprit for the odd mana signature.
Sebene is open for conversation.
They talk of thisbee.
She arrived two days ago after the night at Belinda's. She didn't buy anything but was looking for something. Armando jogs his memory of the item she was looking for. He weaves magic after grabbing his wand and detects that his memory had been altered. Taking a serious stance he reviews his autoledger, a book that writes transactions at will from his unconscious. The ledger was given to him by hana callo. Armando places Haven on the table on a cloth. Eckhart doesnt recognise the book and is left even more confused at why thisbee would be so intent and meticulous about using enchantment to manipulate the city for just a simple book. Upon flipping to the back he recognizes the quote, sung from the same woman who had given him his autoledger. A shophand for some kind of collector from hashi.
They agree to continue their investigation on thisbee and the going-ons in the town. They receive a formal invitation to dinner on the 30th at copperworths for 'an important conversation'
They are advised to see bookseller hamms.

> On the eve of the 17th night, Armando and Barradyne discuss faith and currency and go to purchase iguana-on-a-stick. Barradyne studies the fundamentals of runes for the night.
>
On the 18th day, Cyril awakes, finding a compass and metal tube in his pocket. Stolen goods from a dream of a forest and a woman named Sophia.
The compass has a dial at the top, a button above the dial, and a button on its side. The dial moves the needle, and the needle is unable to swivel on its own. The buttons have no effect.
The cylinder is made of the same metal as the compass. The ends are capped, and along the sides prior to the caps are little teeth that can be slid up or down slightly. 12 teeth on each side.
Copperworth and Cyril make introductions. A deal is made for Cyrils services. Access to materials and utilities for weapons production and household engineering solutions. Copperworth re-iterates no fire producing weapons. Mr debacker the lumberman is introduced. Cyril receives a writ for anything he needs from engineer tots.
Cyril heads toward tots place south east past the market. On the way he runs into the stables and discovers Fredrick. Barradyne and Armando run into him and they discuss more about their past.
Cyril investigates some of the mechanics of Fredrick and learns that most of it is surreal and atypical. The legs don't fit into the ball and socket joints. A small dull crystal is in the center of the large stove-like engine. The suncrest armor was taken, and everything else was left.
They head over to the market. Armando and Cyril arrive first, meeting an assistant becky. She sells masquerade masks and speaks of plays that take place in the upper city, and rarely in the lower.
Assistant Becky explains currency to Cyril.
Kibelion cubes, or kibel are the common denominator currency measured in intergers.
Ouphstones are more specific denominations as theyre favors encoded in flat stones with an icon carved into their surface.
Hiscs are similar although instead of a favor they are a specific item, and each hisc requires a kibel to transmute.
She offers masquerade masks to Cyril, and explains that plays are held in the upper city, and rarely in the lower city.
She tries to usher the party toward her employer who is a fortuneteller, Dreamweaver Cloonan.
Cloonan takes a liking to Armando who is mistaken for some kind of lizard ouphie.
They talk, and she reveals that she hasn't read a fortune for the triumvere, but has read for the Illusionist professor Clodagh from Ableton 10 years ago.
Cloonan divines that Gilligan has been dead for somewhere around 18 years.
Barradyne and Armando get their fortunes read, after Barradyne senses that the deck of cards is an extremely holy object.
>
Cloonan draws the river.
4 blank and 2 not. The willow-the-wisp and the Ghost.
6 are drawn for Barradyne
The Steed, Sword, Shipwreck, Widow, King, Sealskin.
Lost and marooned but able to keep a steady pace to whatever you were looking for.
6 are drawn for Armando
The Pyre, Ring, Scattered Wards, Old Book, Haunted Dagger, Candle.
An affinity for magic of body, but an internal turmoil that prevents connection.
Barradyne is offered The Moon or a Crown, Choosing the Crown.
Armando the Raven or Seven drops of blood, Choosing the Seven drops of blood.
The river takes the Letter and the Chalice.
>
Cyril investigates some of the suppliers and pricing structure of typical items.
Barradyne heads to the library while Armando and Cyril head over to engineer tots.
Tots reiterates the current hesitance toward openly talking about the whitewood problem, and the perspective of Hightower.
His current task is to make an aerosolizer for some kind of powder that copperworth thinks might be effective against the whitewood.
He begrudging accepts Cyril's note from Copperworth to receive whatever he needs.
They investigate Armando's Hexcylinder, and determine that it is from Olum, and will take alchemy to replicate the bullets.
Sleetcote seems to be on the cutting edge of a solution. Fire is dangerous as it makes them explode and spread faster.
>
Gilligan awakes in a cave next to a man named Sharum. Next to them a green gem with a brass belt embossed around its center.
Gilligans legs are bandaged from scraps of many cloths of many colors.
A white tree sits in a pool away from them surrounded by necromancy runes and a green circle of fog.
Gilligan delivers the parcel from copperworth, returning the box to sharum who had originally brought it from his journey from the sea of sand.
The parcel contains black sand from the obsidian sea.
The green cloud ceases and condenses into the green gem, while Hoyoung, a Snow leopard ouphie steps forward.
They make introductions and work together to spread the black sand across the tree, as the tree's surface wrinkles like the surface of a burnt log.
Hoyoung returns to the gem, and Gilligan and Sharum sit and share a meal, speaking of home and the lack of desire to return.
They leave to head back to Suncrest.

> Cyril finishes his designs for weaponry, and includes a bit more requisitions than typical. Totts agrees out of being tired.
Armando and barradyne make it to bookseller hamms shop.
He's a bit dull and explains that perusal is free as long as a book is purchased.
Upstairs is art books and textbooks. Downstairs is fiction and nonfiction.
The place is a mess and barradyne offers a prayer to miracle to aid his search for answers on the visions that he had seen when attempting to bring lark back.
A gold coin is taken and a red book named 'petals' Falls to the ground. Dark red, with no title on it. Inside it says 'petals by ozwald'. No date.
Armando hunts for leads on information about
A white snake, tree of life, ableton, the fireflies, the long night, suncrest crimes, the whitewoods and the severed.
He finds:
"the shining shelves of ableton" which describes the social and geographical layout of ableton.
"A silent valley of witches"
A journal depicting the travels of an explorer stumbling across a dead coven around a white tree.
"Suza of the solemn serpent"
A tale of a hoglin man falling in love with Suza the beast of legend.
"Saha of the sea of sand"
Firefly wanders the desert and makes it to the afterward, while those who hold her dear to their heart follow her into the dark bearing a large locomotive on their shoulders.
Barradyne investigates petals. It is a textbook that is beyond technical. R6 fields. It discusses fundamental fields and their relation to magic. One of the products or perhaps form of a field is referred to as memoria, which the symptoms of interaction with this substance seem to coincide with barradynes visions of a man with a mask and woman with blue hair.
Barradyne discovered the connection people have to a field as what is known as a magical nature. Barradynes being memoria.
Barradyne searches for a book on gods, but finds a text on the old laws.
>
Old laws: found in the stones far to the south in the webwood
1 return to the earth
2 kindness to the stranger for they are as you.
3 en eye for a limb, a limb for a soul, no soul for the world.
4 craft stone as a servant to life
5 honor thy mother with grace
6 prune the roots for the sake of the branches
New laws: heart of the kibelian kingdom
1 remember your dead
2 know your enemy before you strike
3 life has no equivalence nor measure in limb
4 carve out that which will outlive you
5 honor thy father with courage

Armando and barradyne finish their reading. Barradyne feels the world is cold and heartless, and out of grasp. Armando breaks down and wonders if he is in a dream or if he is even real. Barradyne assures him that he is here despite whatever here means. They discuss memory, the potential of its importance, and how the history of the land is obscured through myth. Barradyne brings up the tangibility of memory as a function of the world itself.
Barradyne attempts to return 'petals', but a sickening thought dawns him that charity is unbecoming. The book had no dust on it in comparison to the other books.
Armando pays for his 2 books, leaving behind the book on saha and ableton.
Cyril makes his way back to copperworths with the writ from totts.
Copperworth talks about cylinders, the current project of aerosolizing dust, and reiterates the issue with fighting the whitewood with fire.
Cyril will receive his requisitions tomorrow on the 19th. He gets a few more kibel from copperworth to buy some books. Slough mentions he is the smith who made the rudimentary weapons. Quantity over quality. Cyril offers his services but Slough jokes about how large cyrils itinerary is. Cyril familiarizes himself with Sloughs makeshift workshop.
The morning of the 19th comes around. supplies will be delivered to totts. Cyril eats breakfast and listens to Slough postulate about using genies as a projectile. Cyril heads to the bookstore.
He finds a book on the geography of surlu, the culture of hashi, the basics of alchemy.
Hashin culture revolves around the acceptance that the world is viewed through the lense of cost benefit analysis. The Hashin international exchange house, (H.I.E.H) also known as the house of cards, manufactures hiscs and their hierarchy is obscured the higher up the social ladder you look.
Cyril returns after purchasing the books.
On the 19th day cyril receives his supplies and begins crafting a pair of door latches. The evening is spent crafting most of the irrigation system.
On the 20th, Cyril finishes the irrigation system and applies it to the yard.
On the 21st day Cyril dissects the pneuma device with totts. He spends the rest of the day discovering alchemy through the textbook he bought.
On the 22nd day cyril makes a honed brass by expending his kibel and brass stocks.
On the 23rd day, he spends the day hammering out a cylinder barrel.
On the 24th Cyril develops a trigger mechanism, and a handle for the cylinder. He returns to Slough who informs him that his efforts might be a bit too enthusiastic as his progress is more than good enough to back up his word and repay any gratitude.
