While weaving, and fulfilling the requirements of spellcasting you have to ability to make a magic action: Spellcast.
Casting a spell requires a verbal, somatic and material component, as well as an expenditure of mana.
The material and verbal components of the spell is determined by the Tradition of the caster.
- the somatic component of the spell being the rune that corresponds to the school when using the weave action.
- The material component of the spell is required to be held while taking the spellcasting action.
- The verbal component of the spell is required to be spoken while taking the spellcasting action.
The mana required to Spellcast is equal to the rank of the magic form from within the school of magic being woven.
example: a rank 5 divine fire bolt requires a divine tradition, a fire nature, rank 5 in evocation, and 5 mana, but only rank 1 in spellcasting. This would increase to rank 3 spellcasting if a spellcasting talent was taken at rank 3 in the evocation school under the bolt form.
Spellcast:
When using the spellcasting action you declare a target as a point in space.
The effects of the spell are determined by the form selected from the school woven.
These effects are applied and resolved as a part of the spellcasting action as per the form chosen.
