Using a ritual takes a length of time proportional to the rank of the ritual.
A ritual requires material components, as well as a mana bond.
A mana bond is a quantity of mana that is required to finish the ritual, and stays removed from the caster for the duration of the ritual.
The material components of the ritual is determined by the school for the material type, and the tradition for the specifics of the material type.
Material types are divided into 4 categories and can be found within each tradition: Sediment, Liquid, Catalyst, and Foci
The Sediment, Liquid, and Catalyst may be required to undergo one of three transformations:
Rendered inert (the material no longer has the capacity to be used in a ritual, other changes to the material may take effect.)
Expended (the material is destroyed)
Unchanged (nothing happens to the material)
